Jeffrey Osborne (born March 9, 1948 in Providence, Rhode Island) is an American funk and R&B musician, and former lead singer of the band LTD Osborne is the youngest of 12 children and is part of a musical family. He has five brothers and six sisters, some of whom went on to have music careers (his brother Billy was an LTD bandmate). Osborne’s father, Clarence “Legs” Osborne, was a popular trumpeter who played with Lionel Hampton, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington. Osborne started his music career in 1969 with a band called Love Men Ltd., who would later become known as LTD The band recorded memorable hits such as “Everytime I Turn Around (Back In Love Again)”, “Love Ballad” and “(Holdin’ On) When Love Is Gone”. At first, Osborne was a drummer, but then became the lead vocalist. He left LTD in 1981 to start a solo career. His solo success includes five gold and platinum albums. Oh man, top ten of favorite songs of all time!! I got to meet Jeffrey and his wife and daughter in the 80’s and get a record to him!! I sang at the time and he was so kind to motion me back to meet him. I could barely breathe…Here he was, my fav singer of all time and I was going to meet him!!!!!! I could barely talk!!!

Yes it has been 17yrs. Those football seasons were lonely sometimes because I was not always able to travel with the team. He’s my rock & inspiration.
